Web3 SEO: how to get your dApp found on Google in Malaysia

Many web3 products live inside a client-rendered single-page app with no indexable content. Great for users with a wallet, invisible for everyone searching on Google. Here is how to make a dApp discoverable in Malaysia.

1. Separate your marketing site from your app

Put your explanations, pricing, documentation and blog on a fast, server-rendered site (for example Next.js with static generation), and keep the wallet-connected application on a subdomain such as app.yourdomain.com. Search engines index the former; users transact in the latter.

2. Target real search intent in Malaysia

  • Search in English, Bahasa Malaysia and, where relevant, Chinese. People search differently in each language.
  • Answer practical questions: how it works, whether it is safe, what it costs in RM, how to get started.
  • Create one page per intent. Thin, duplicated pages hurt more than they help.

3. Get the technical basics right

  • Rendering: make sure key content appears in the HTML response, not only after JavaScript runs.
  • Metadata: unique titles and descriptions, canonical URLs and en-MY language tags on every page.
  • Structured data: Organization, FAQ, Article and Breadcrumb schema help search engines understand your pages.
  • Core Web Vitals: lazy-load heavy wallet SDKs until the user clicks “connect”, and serve modern image formats.
  • Crawlability: an XML sitemap, a clean robots.txt and a logical internal-link structure.

4. Show expertise and trust (E-E-A-T)

Web3 sits close to finance, which search engines treat carefully. Publish author names and credentials, link to audits and documentation, be clear about your company and address, and avoid exaggerated promises about returns.

5. Don’t ignore local SEO

If you serve Malaysian businesses, set up a Google Business Profile, keep your name, address and phone number identical everywhere, collect genuine reviews and mention the cities you serve (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru and so on) on relevant pages.

Get cited by local tech and business media, partner directories, university and community events, and developer documentation. A single relevant link from a respected Malaysian site is worth more than hundreds of low-quality directory links.

7. Measure what matters

Connect Google Search Console and GA4, track conversions (form submissions, wallet connects, sign-ups) and review queries monthly. Combine them with on-chain dashboards to see which content brings users who actually transact.

A note on advertising

Ad platforms apply additional rules to crypto and financial-services advertising, and these differ by country. Always check the current policies before you plan paid campaigns.
